Key Regulatory Developments in 2026
Czech Republic Cannabis Legalization (Effective January 1, 2026)
Adults 21+ may legally cultivate up to 3 cannabis plants and possess 25g dried cannabis outside home (100g at home). Growing 4-5 plants or possessing up to 50g outside (200g at home) is a minor offense with fine.
France Medical Cannabis Transition (Effective April 1, 2026)
France closes its five-year pilot program on March 31, 2026, transitioning to permanent pharmaceutical-style regulation determining access, pricing, supply, and prescriber rights.
Germany CanG Law Anniversary
Germany’s adult-use industry ramped up significantly after CanG law implementation in April 2024. Medical cannabis sales expected to reach €420 million in 2024 and over €1 billion by 2028.
